We used their cyber quest «La presse électronique» as a starting point for the redaction of this new pedagogical activity with the electronic press. We would like to thank them for their precious experience.

HERE IS YOUR ASSIGNMENT
 
You must consult the Electronic Press in order to  discover if an English and a French article  concerning the same subject, present the same information.  Afterwards, you must compare the two texts to verify if the information is the same. Your supervisor will hand you an envelope containing pertinent data. This envelope marked “Confidential” is a necessary tool to ensure your success.

STEP-BY-STEP

1.   Check to be sure that you have your Investigation Report before you start (see your supervisor).
2. Indicate your hypothesis in order to validate your report.
3. Find two articles, one in English and one in French, that explore the same subject (on the Electronic Press).
4. Complete your Bibliography Files by indicating your sources of reference (do not forget).
5. Print your two articles.
6. Identify the subject (topic) and the titles of your articles on your Investigation Report (this is your IR).
7. Read your articles in order to discover any similarities or differences between the two. A good technique would be to use a green and a red coloured markers, red for D and green for S.
8. Use key words or important phrases to fill out your chart Differences or Similarities on your Investigation Report.
9. Register your analysis on your Investigation Report. Your analysis must be based on the elements observed.
10. Check your hypothesis. Is it proven right or wrong? Were you correct or incorrect in your assessment. Don’t forget to indicate it on your IR.
11. Complete your report by writing a conclusion. Your conclusion will naturally make reference to your initial hypothesis.
12. Remember to check spelling mistakes, verb tenses and sentence structure. The quality of your presentation is an important part of a good report.
13. Compose a short text to explain to your supervisor the following points:
Do you have any tips or suggestions for a Web user interested in the Internet Media? This will conclude your assignment.
14. Put each document in your envelope Confidential and hand it back to your supervisor.
